Two national standards, Accelerated Aging Test Method for Photovoltaic Module Packaging Materials High Pressure Cooking Test (PCT) and Accelerated Aging Test Method for Photovoltaic Module Packaging Materials Ultraviolet High Temperature and High Humidity Test, were approved by the National Standardization Administration in December 2014. A standard preparation group was established in March 2015, and the work plan and scheme were developed. In August 2015, according to the actual use of the product and user needs The discussion draft of standard draft was completed by referring to several standards for routine inspection items and test validation analysis.

As the main participant in the preparation of the two standards, Swick presided over the kick-off meeting of the standard "Accelerated Aging Test Method for Photovoltaic Module Packaging Materials High Pressure Cooking Test (PCT)". At present, the aging test of photovoltaic packaging materials is basically based on the IEC61215-2005 photovoltaic module standard. The aging test cycle is long, and it is not fully applicable to the user's rapid evaluation. It is not possible to select the advantages of materials in a short time. On the other hand, due to the lack of theoretical basis, many enterprises choose different test conditions for testing. After a large number of long-term tests and comparison of the test results of PCT accelerated aging test for 24 hours, 48 hours and 1000 hours and 2000 hours, Swick has reason to believe that the short-time accelerated aging test can replace the time-consuming and labor-intensive wet heat test. Through theoretical and written regulations, the test conditions for the test are unified to form a test standard for photovoltaic packaging materials. Under the same evaluation system, the superiority of materials can be evaluated in a short time, which is beneficial for the power plant supplier and component supplier to select high-quality suppliers.
The suppliers of EVA film and backplane from Trina Solar, Jingao, Hanhua, Atlas, Jingke, Xi'an Yellow River, Chint, China Building Materials, CECEP, China Electric, China Power Investment, Suntech, Saiwei and other component factories, as well as from Kangweiming, 3M China, Suzhou Zhonglai, Saiwu, Mingguan, Foster, Lucky, Zhongtian Photovoltaic, Yuxing Film, Kembo, Esso, Zhejiang Gerui and other suppliers participated in the kick-off meeting of the two standards. Based on the principles of scientific, practical, innovative, compatible and normative standard preparation, the participants reviewed the draft standard, actively expressed their views on many contents of the draft and put forward valuable suggestions. The convening of the meeting marked the formal and comprehensive start of the drafting of the two national standards.
